  3.                                 SHOW ME THE LAW
  4.  
  5.               We're going to cover an area now which I know will drive
  6.          the public servants at the funny farm up a tree.  This is one
  7.          of those  deals where it will require massive involvement and
  8.          response by all of us.
  9.               Whenever you  see any  legislation passed  or pending in
  10.          the Congress,  get on  their case.  Demand to know where they
  11.          found the permission in our Constitution for their actions.
  12.               Whenever you hear glowing  words  about  balanced budget
  13.          amendments  from  little  George  or anyone else at the White
  14.          House, remind them all they need do is  stop illegal spending
  15.          of our  tax dollars.   Question,  question, and question some
  16.          more.
  17.               Many from Congress are  bailing  out  after all the flap
  18.          about their banking privileges and practices.  Now we need to
  19.          make it uncomfortable for others  who  think  they  are omni-
  20.          potent.   Perhaps we  can elect  honest and  honorable men to
  21.          congress.
  22.               Another thing we have to get after is the pensions these
  23.          jerks have  setup for themselves.  These figures are obscene!
  24.          Most members of congress retire  with  more  money  than they
  25.          were making  while 'working'  in  congress,  many  by  double 
  26.          what they were making.  Did I mention making laws which makes
  27.          it legal  for them  to steal?  Yes, I guess I did.  $55,000 a
  28.          year is pretty much a low figure for their retirement checks.
  29.          We sure  are generous  employers.  That's only $1,058 a week.
  30.          I'm sure they don't consider $1000 a week as too much money.
  31.               Some make well over  $100,000  a  year  .  .  .  can you
  32.          imagine  paying  these  yoyo's  that  much  money  to  sit in
  33.          congress for  those years  figuring out  ways to  give us the
  34.          shaft?   That's what  we're doing  friends . . . well, that's
  35.          not accurate.  We're not doing it . . .  they're doing  it to
  36.          us . . . again! 
  37.               The Constitution says 'they shall receive a compensation
  38.          for their services, to be ascertained by law, and paid out of
  39.          the Treasury  of the  United States.'   (Art  I, Sec 6)  Does
  40.          that say anything about retirement?  Or is it a case again of
  41.          sick  legal  minds  stretching  a phrase out of context which
  42.          puts the frosting on their cakes?   If  not illegal,  this is
  43.          certainly not  in keeping  with the  letter and spirit of the
  44.          charter.
  45.               Another area where they are thumbing their noses  at all
  46.          Americans is this business of keeping all the money which was
  47.          donated to their election campaigns.  They have  passed a law
  48.          (to legalize  more stealing) which allows them to either keep
  49.          or return all monies which they received through the years to
  50.          get reelected.  In most cases of these clowns who are bailing
  51.          out (or being forced out) of congress, it  involves thousands
  52.          and thousands  of dollars!  What do they care if you think it
  53.          is illegal or immoral?  Hypocrisy abounds in DC!
  54.               When do we say enough is enough?  
  55.               James Madison said he is  unable  to  conceive  that the
  56.          
  57.          people  of  America,  in  their  present temper, or under any
  58.          circumstances that  can  speedily  happen,  will  choose, and
  59.          every  second  year  repeat  the  choice  of, sixty-five or a
  60.          hundred men who would be disposed to form and pursue a scheme
  61.          of tyranny  or treachery.   (Paper  No. 55)  Poor man must be
  62.          rolling in his grave today.  Diogenes, where are you?
  63.               Of course, Madison was talking about  electing represen-
  64.          tatives, not senators.  But since the election of senators is
  65.          illegal, (See Volume 1  of The  Traitor Within  The Gates) we
  66.          should accept  his words  at face value.  How can we continue
  67.          to sent these clowns back year after year?
  68.               Let's get back to demanding to  know where  their permit
  69.          for certain legislation is to be found . . . 
  70.               This demand  can be  in the form of phone calls, letters
  71.          to their  Washington offices  or by  use of  the Petition For
  72.          Redress.   The petition  is included  in this book and can be
  73.          printed by any printer.  Fill in your demand and ask that you
  74.          be informed  about the  clause in the constitution which they
  75.          feel gives them the right to enact or  even consider legisla-
  76.          tion.
  77.               The petition  or a  note will be more effective if it is
  78.          hand written.  I feel the petition is better for our purposes
  79.          because it  includes the Tenth Amendment.  This shows them we
  80.          know what their limitations are.   If  you  write  a  note, I
  81.          suggest you  write out the amendment for the same reason.  It
  82.          also gives them a chance to read their own restrictions.
  83.               At any rate, it should not sound like you are  copying a
  84.          form letter.   They  are bound  by their  protocol to answer.
  85.          Being hand  written  makes  them  feel  that  your  letter or
  86.          petition counts  for at  least 1000 votes . . . they feel you
  87.          will influence that many people with your views.
  88.               Letters addressed as follows should reach  your senators
  89.          or congressmen/women:
  90.                          (The name of your senators)
  91.                          United States Senate
  92.                          Washington, DC 20510

  94.                          (The name of your representative)
  95.                          United States House of Representatives
  96.                          Washington, DC 20515
  97.  
  98.               I say  it 'should'  reach members  of Congress . . . but
  99.          after all the revelations about  the  operation  of  the post
  100.          office at the Congressional building . . . I wouldn't hold my
  101.          breath.
  102.               Whenever you hear  about  garbage  like  the  'Clean Air
  103.          Act', or  that any  $10,000 transactions  must be reported to
  104.          the IRS, or bank bailouts, or making new  government corpora-
  105.          tions, or making the purchase of all vitamins by prescription
  106.          only . . . or similar nonsense, ask where their  authority is
  107.          found.   Just tell  them, show  me where it is . . . cite the
  108.          section and clause which specifically gives power to pass the
  109.          precise legislation being considered.
  110.               If, through  our efforts,  we could get only one percent
  111.          
  112.          of all Americans to use this  technique, the  clowns in Wash-
  113.          ington would  have to sit up and take note.  As I pointed out
  114.          in the article on taxes, they can easily sit on  one petition
  115.          and  nothing  is  accomplished.    We  need  the reactions of
  116.          bunches of people.
  117.               We all know people are tired  of the  way our government
  118.          is being run.  This gives us another tool to keep tabs on the
  119.          yoyo's who are giving us the royal shaft.
  120.               Let me point out . .  . when  you receive  a response to
  121.          your petition,  letter or phone call, don't be satisfied with
  122.          the answer you receive  without  checking  out  the document.
  123.          Don't fall  into a trap and agree with what they say is their
  124.          constitutional authority.
  125.               Much of what will be returned will be written by a staff
  126.          member.   Most of  these staff  members are  lawyers and they
  127.          will do their utmost to rationalize their actions  and at the
  128.          same  time  justify  their  jobs.  They use the Congressional
  129.          Research Service extensively which  also will  do whatever it
  130.          takes to explain and justify the action Congress takes.
  131.               Being  forewarned  is  being  forearmed.  And we do know
  132.          better.
  133.               Dig out a copy of the  Constitution and  lay their reply
  134.          against the  document and  see whether  or not you agree with
  135.          their answer.  If you don't agree (and  I'm sure  after these
  136.          two volumes  you'll be  able to figure it out yourself) write
  137.          them and  tell them  where you  disagree.   Again, tell them,
  138.          "Show me!"
  139.               These  people  are  so  far from mainstream America that
  140.          they have to be told in no uncertain terms . . .  This is not
  141.          your country, it's our country!  This is not your government,
  142.          it's our government!  Obey our laws.
  143.               Again, I point out  the three  functions of  our govern-
  144.          ment as  enumerated in  the document,  (1) Defend our shores,
  145.          (2) Deliver our mail and (3) Stay the hell out of our lives!
